Vision of Faust - Luis Ricardo Falero - 1878

A critically under appreciated Spanish painter of the late 19th century, Falero’s work honed in on the three things he knew best: mythology, astronomy, and the female nude. While his fantasy depictions made his paintings unworthy of contemporary Salon presence, his work found new meaning in the 20th century in lieu of a modern wiccan influx and today he is a prominent figure in pagan representation in art.
